The Sundance Film Festival continued with a virtual ceremony to host the film Festivals where virtual tickets allowed critics and movie lovers to watch an array of 84 features including film shorts, virtual reality, Q&As everything all from the comfort of our couches.

Here are the 5 films from Sundance 2022

Am I Ok?

Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allyne made their feature with the young adult dramedy starring Dakota Johnson and Sonoya Mizuno. It’s a story that portrays a friendship between two best friends Lucy and Jane when Lucy confessed her sexual preference of being attracted by women both the friends are pushed to find out their true identities.

Cha Cha Real Smooth

The winner of the Audience Awards this year was Cooper Raiff film. Cooper plays Andrew, a recent college graduate who starts his career as a party host, his world is thrown into a tailspin when he meets a young mother named Domino played by Dakota Johnson.

Fire Of Love

It is a Sara Dosa film, it is purchased by the National Geographic Documentary Films after its premiere. It’s the story of two French volcanologists Maurice and Katia Krafft. The couple dedicated their whole life to exploring volcanic eruptions worldwide, ending with an expedition to the 1991 flare-up of Mount Unzen, Japan where they took their last breaths.

Hatching

A movie by Finnish filmmaker Hanna Bergholm. It is a horror film that’s narrative revolves around Tinja, a pre-teen gymnast who feels the need to constantly appease her mother, who is always busy handling her blog than showing her family the affection they need, a day wandering in the woods Tinja finds a mysterious egg and takes it home. The hatching of the egg reveals a creation that she fears but she also wants to take care of it with maternal instincts.

Nanny

This year’s Grand Jury Prize winner in the dramatic competition. Nikyatu Jusu became the Second Black female filmmaker to win the prize in Sundance history. The domestic drama with supernatural horror focuses on Aisha an undocumented immigrant from Senegal who finds work nannying for a family in New York. She soon becomes aware of the toxicity of the family she is working for, and abnormal phantom spirits start penetrating her world.
