As Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s ongoing defamation case is still underway in the US and revealing new details about the case now and then, it was reported that Amber was almost NOT picked by Warner Bros. for Aquaman 2. The reason, however, was said not to be due to her ongoing case but rather a chemistry issue with the lead, Jason.
A report suggests that Warner Bros. did not want to cast Heard for the Aquaman 2, even though the movie became one of the highest-grossing hits of the year.
According to a source, Walter Hamada called a meeting regarding the Heard-Depp case. The president of the DC films argued that Heard would not have to be re-casted due to her chemistry with Jason Momoa. Regardless of the news, Heard was eventually signed and now has even completed working on the shoot for the Aquaman 2.
Given her case, she recently claimed that she had not been asked to do any roles or endorsements. Heard and Depp have been battling legally since 2018 after Heard alleged in a piece for the Washington Post that Depp had physically and verbally abused her.
Celebs like Elon Musk, Paul Bettany, and James Franco will reportedly have to testify in the case. Depp has sought $50 million for the damage, while Heard has countered him for $100 million.
The court proceedings are to be broadcasted on Court TV.
