What is known about the upcoming live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs?

For a very long time, the rumors of Disney creating a live-action film have been wandering the aisles of Hollywood making the fans stay on their toes.

And on May 30, 2019, the rumors were finalized when the reports of Marc Webb directing the “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (live-action film)” reached the media. Webb is well-known for directing numerous prominent films including the rom-com 500 Days of Summer and the two Spider-Man films starring Andrew Garfield.

Fans across the globe are thrilled to watch one of the most admired fairy tales of all time. Snow White made its place in the hearts of all since the winter of 1937 when the movie for the very first time came on the big screens. Since then many adaptations have been made. This glorious classic paved road for many more equally extraordinary classics including Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, and 2013’s Frozen.

Just like the original, the approaching adaptation will be based on the 1812’s German fairy tale “Snow White” by the Brothers Grimm.

Even though the release date has yet to be publicized, the movie is scheduled to start filming later this year. According to multiple sources, the movie will include both authentic tunes as well as the music composed by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

The iconic role of Snow White will be performed by Rachel Zegler. It will be her second prominent role in Hollywood after playing Maria in the remake of West Side Story. The actress conveyed her enthusiasm with her fans by posting several tweets along with a video clip of her meeting Snow White in Disneyland. She posted the video with, “Homegirl we have LOTS to catch up on,”

The next most significant role of the Evil Queen will be played by none other than Hollywood’s very own Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot who has been cast on November 3, 2021. The actress teased her fans with her post stating, “There is so much that I cannot share with you. But the take on this story is so different and delightful and full of joy. I’m very, very excited. I wish I could share more.”

The latest addition in this enchanting story is Andrew Burnap who has been cast on January 12, 2022. Burnap is known for his role in ”The Inheritance”.

The 30-year-old actor will play Jonathan, a brand new character who is described as a “Robin Hood-like” person and who will become Snow White’s love interest, following her into battle.

Everyone is eagerly waiting to see such remarkable actors playing these iconic roles on the big screen as this wonderful fairytale has been a magical part of all our childhoods.
