Even after all these years, the fashion lovers still remember the iconic fashion assistant ‘Andy Sachs’, a beautifully naive girl who stumbled into the office of the devil, i.e, Miranda Priestly, the editor of the Runway magazine with a god-complex.
The gorgeous brunette, freshly graduated from Northwestern University entertained us with her story. Her journey from being rather fashionless to selling her soul to the she-devil of the fashion industry was filled with amazing moments that were equally scary and real.
The Devil Wears Prada was first introduced to its fans in 2006 and since then it has been known as one of the best comedy-drama films. It was directed by David Frankel and produced by Wendy Finerman.
Anne Hathaway has been known to give spectacular performances in her films and this wasn’t an exception either. Movie lovers all across the globe fell in love with ‘Andy’ and no matter what she wore, she became a beloved character.
Hathaway’s fans were ecstatic to see ‘Andy’ once again on the actress’s Instagram handle. Anne Hathaway surprised her fans by posting a beautiful image of her supporting wispy bangs. The actress was dressed in a beautiful collared floral mini dress which made all of her remember the iconic fashion assistant.
The comment section was filled with her fans as well as the movie’s fans as we all were taken several years back. Many of the comments were filled with “Andy? Is that you?”, Andrea Sachs looks so good after all these years,”
We can’t even imagine anybody else in the role of a newcomer who landed the job “a million girls would kill for” yet she wasn’t the final choice of the directors. Hard to believe, isn’t it?
Anne shared this while being in an interview with People Magazine that the role wasn’t supposed to go to her. Supposedly, she was ninth in line, along with Juliette Lewis and Claire Danes.
And during her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race, she revealed “I will give you some tea: I was the ninth choice for Devil Wears Prada,” she added, ” But I got it! Hang in there, never give up,”
She told her fans that she had to do her best to get the attention of the casting crew since she was desperate to get the role. And when she got the role, she shared her feelings with us all. She told her fans, “I was putting on a shirt. I had some buddies over. I remember running out in my living room, half-dressed, screaming — I got Devil Wears Prada! I got Devil Wears Prada!”
Now, a decade later, we can’t even imagine anyone else stepping in the shoes of Andy like Anne did. We are all grateful for providing us with a beautiful and iconic leading lady and teaching us that anything is possible.
