BAFTA Awards will be premiering soon on the scheduled date for March 13th. The board has announced the nominations for the Rising Star Award 2022.
The Nominees include actors from No time to Die, Power of the Dog, and West Side Story. They revealed the names on 1 February, during an event at BAFTA’s London HQ on 195 Piccadilly.
This year’s for the above-discussed category was chaired by Krishnendu Majumdar, actor Andy Serkis, Sadie Frost, and Michelle Dockery, producer Uzma Hasan, Casting directors Lucy Bevan and Leo Davis, senior talent agent Ikki El’Amriti along with some more people from respective industries and journalists.
Last year Bukky Bakray was named the BAFTA’s Rising Star.

Millicent Simmonds- for her role in the Quiet Place Part II
Lashana Lynch- actress who appeared in No Time To Die. And she has been cast in the musical adaptation of Matilda.
Kodi Smit-McPhee- who starred in Power of the Dog along with Benedict Cumberbatch
Ariana DeBose- for her role as Anita in the West Side Story
Harris Dickinson- starred in Maleficent
The Full List of Nominations will be released on February 3. The Awards has also decided to appoint a selection committee for their category of Special Awards amid facing the backlash caused by the Noel Clarke controversy, releasing an official statement coming up with a solution to increase the accountability of Awards.
An official statement is released reads “BAFTA has undertaken a lengthy, thoughtful and thorough review of its Special awards including extensive industry consultation. This concluded that these awards remain a vital way to celebrate excellence and inspire future generations of talent across film, games, and television and we look forward to honoring exceptional contributions to these industries in the future. Due to the time needed to properly implement the recommendations of this review, these non-competitive awards, including the Fellowship, will not be part of this year’s Film Awards or Games Awards ceremonies in 2022, but we intend to present Special awards at our Television Award ceremony in May.”
The actors and creators must be very eager to find out who makes in on the list of nominations of BAFTA 2022.
