The narrative-led show from David S. Goyer, the screenwriter of Batman Begins, Batman v Superman, and The Dark Knight – will feature the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Winston Duke as Bruce Wayne.

Also in the cast is Hasan Minhaj as The Riddler, Lance Reddick as Thomas Wayne, Jason Isaacs as Alfred, Gina Rodriguez as Barbara Gordon, John Rhys-Davies as Dr. Hunter, Toks Olagundoye as Martha Wayne, and Ashly Burch as Vicki Vale.

The show leans into the psychological side of Batman as it dives into the mind of Bruce Wayne, and Bruce must face and overcome his internal demons. Franchise staples will also appear, including several classic Batman villains and locations within Gotham City.

Batman Unburied will immediately be released in nine different languages, explicitly made with local talent for versions in India, Brazil, France, Mexico, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, and Japan alongside the original English version.

In September 2020, The podcast was announced and was initially meant to debut the following year.

Goyer said: “I’ve been a fan of narrative podcasts for some time and was looking for the right story — returning to Batman seems like the perfect opportunity.

“We’ll be using the unique advantages of audio to dig into the more nightmarish members of the Dark Knight’s Rogues Gallery.”
