Ben Affleck, the 49-year-old actor, has been nominated for the best supporting actor category for his role in the coming-of-age drama The Tender Bar.
When announcing the nominees for the 79th Golden Globe, 2022 awards, rapper Snoop Dog accidentally mispronounced Ben’s name.
While reading the nominees for best-supporting Actor in a motion picture, Snoop Dogg read Affleck’s name as “Ben Aff-fleck.” Snoop quickly apologized to him.
“My fault,” He said. “Sorry about that, Ben.
The 49-year-old actor has been busy promoting his coming-of-age drama The Tender Bar, directed by George Clooney.
While promoting the drama recently, the Actor Appeared on The Kelly Clarkson show.
He called back when rapper snoop Dog mispronounced his name accidentally during the 79th Golden Globe Awards.
He confessed that this wasn’t the first time someone mispronounced his name.
He said, “That was nice. He did get the emphasis a little off, yes. It’s funny because I always grew up, and I thought, like, ‘Affleck? What an incredibly ugly name.’ Now it sounds like a duck commercial. Aflac!”
Further, He added, “When I was a kid, my parents, I always remember them, like, in the days when people would call you up for a magazine subscription or something, and they would go, ‘A. F as in Frank. F as in Frank,'” he recalled. “And I was always like, ‘Why did they always do that?’ And I realized as I started looking through the mail, we would get, and it would always be like, ‘Mr.and Mrs. A-S-S-L-I-C-K.'”
“I was like, ‘Oh, I see!” He continued. “You’d hate to have that misunderstood.”
Gladly, The Actor doesn’t hold any grudges towards Snoop Dogg for mispronouncing his name.
