Benedict Cumberbatch has had an amazing past few years. With films like The Power of the Dog and Spider-Man: No Way Home in his pocket, his acting skills are being greatly appreciated by his fans and his co-stars all over the world.
The Sherlock famed star will once again entertain his fans through his role in the upcoming sci-fi franchise named ‘Morning’. Being directed by Justin Kurzel, the movie will have Cumberbatch himself as executive producer along with Dern and Jayme Lemons via their company Jaywalker Pictures and Marnie Podos. This project is written by Sam Steiner and Kurzel will work with his previous collaborators, the cinematographer Adam Arkapaw and the costume designer Alice Babidge.
The synopsis of the movie in the words of The Hollywood Reporter reads, “Morning is set in a near-future where society has a pill that does away with the need to sleep. With the added help of an artificial sun, there is finally no end to morning daylight, living and work. But as a young generation grows up deprived of the world of sleep, is it time for them to rebel and reclaim their dreams?”
Fans will get to see talented actors like Laura Dern who will play the role of Cathy, the one who embraces the no-sleep world along with Benedict Cumberbatch who will play the role of Frank, Cathy’s husband. Noah Jupe will be playing the character of their son Danny who belongs to the generation that wants their dreams back.
Adam Ackland, one of the producers of the movie also shared his thoughts regarding this upcoming project with Deadline. His statement read, “Morning is a joyful, reflective, and defiant story about a reality not so far from our own where a preoccupation with productivity has destroyed our ability to connect, grieve and love.”
He also praised the actors selected for the roles and said, “We cannot wait to see this incredibly talented cast and the creative team headed by Justin, Laura, and Noah bring Sam’s brilliantly original script to life.”
Before this movie, Dern was seen in Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story for which the actress was awarded Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Along with the well-known actress, fans have also seen Noah Jupe in his television series called The Night Manager and his role in John Krasinski’s horror film named A Quiet Place and its sequel A Quiet Place 2.
No other relevant dates have been disclosed so far and the fans are quite excited for this upcoming franchise.
