What could be a better way to open a fashion show than making a hardcore entrance on horseback? Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco just made the epic entrance for the Chanel fashion walk show.
Casiraghi is the daughter of Monaco’s Princess Caroline and granddaughter of Princess Grace. She is the 11th in the line of succession to Monaco’s throne. Grace Kelly, the late American actress who became princess of Monaco through her marriage to Prince Rainier III in 1956.
Charlotte opened the luxury fashion house’s Spring/summer 2022 Haute Couture collection riding her horse. She wore a glittery black tweed jacket, black pants, and a pair of sleek shiny riding boots with a matching black helmet. Her entrance marked the versatility of the Chanel garments while a short film was shown in the background emphasizing the importance of horses for Gabrielle Coco Chanel.
As the Royal trotted on the runway the famous attendees like Pharrell Williams, Ana Wintour, Margot Robbie, Sofia Coppola, and more, were left startled while musician Sébastien Tellier played live for the event.
The 35-year-old was signed up as Chanel’s latest brand ambassador. The Luxury brand revealed on their Instagram handle stating “Sealing a long relationship based on trust and friendship, started by Karl Lagerfeld and continued today by Virginie Viard, Charlotte Casiraghi will become an ambassador and spokesperson for the house from January 1st, 2021.” In accepting the role as the face of Chanel she explained that she will be a contributor, not just a muse’ and it’s her responsibility to stress the message of women empowerment from the fashion house.
The niece of Prince Albert is long open about her fondness for horses. She told Harper’s Bazaar in 2013 “They’ve had an important role in my life. They gave me the energy to move forward, the ability to fight, giving me rare confidence and invaluable strength.”
