Famous South Korean boyband BTS has already collaborated with the British Rock band “Coldplay” for their song “My Universe.”
Which was an instant hit among BTS fans also known as ARMY.
The song became a hit and ruled the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 16 continuous weeks. Ever since the song was released fans have been demanding their second collaboration.
Recently, The rock band’s pianist and vocalist Chris Martin appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and shared his experience about the collaboration and hanging out with the seven members.
“Someone said to me, ‘BTS asked you to do a song with them. … At the time, I was like, ‘That’s never going to work, ever. How are we going to fit these two things together?’” the Coldplay singer recalled the idea of collaboration.
“Then the idea started to seem really attractive in its weirdness, and then one day the right song arrived and I just knew at time, ‘OK, this is the song I’m supposed to do with BTS and it’s about people who can’t be together or told they shouldn’t be together or forced to live in separate places.’ Then it felt really natural.”
He continued, “It’s quite bizarre … We look like their gym teachers, but we love them. For something that could have seemed so artificial, it turned out to be one of the most real feelings. We genuinely love those people.”
Chris also hilariously joked about how they look like gym teachers in front of the young singers. He said, ”It felt really natural and it’s still quite bizarre. We look like their gym teachers,” Furthermore, the 44-year-old singer openly professed his love for the band by saying, ”We love them. For something that could have seemed so artificial, it turned out to be one of the most real feelings. We genuinely love those people.”
He further discussed visiting South Korea and being friends with PSY, the Korean star who is known for his global hit “Gangnam Style”, and their “My universe” collaborator, BTS.
Talking about seeing the members in their home country, Martin said, ”It was cool to see how their life is. They are a very different kind of band to us. It’s much more disciplined in a certain way.”
In October 2021, in an interview with ‘On Air With Ryan Seacrest’, Martin talked about their successful collaboration with BTS and revealed that it was Jin’s Idea to make music together. He said, ”At first I was like no way because the idea got suggested by Jin, Worldwide Handsome Jin from BTS, and I was like, ‘I don’t know how that could ever work.”
