Nicky Shen is ready to fight another day at the CW.
The CW network has notified the renewal of the martial arts, action-adventure show, Kung Fu, and its inclusion to their 2022-2023 slate. Kung Fu’s is ready for the renewal for a third season, which was announced alongside the renewal of other CW Network shows.
Kung Fu is a modern re-imagining of the 1972 series of the same name in which David Carradine Played the lead role. The show follows Nicky Shen, a Chinese-American woman who returns to San Francisco three years after leaving her home and joining an isolated monastery in China. Nicky Shen
Finding her hometown submerged in the happiness of crime and corruption, she uses her martial arts skills to protect her community and family while tracking down the assassin who killed her mentor.
Olivia Liang plays Kung Fu lead cast, Nicky Shen, and other lead stars cast in this season include Althea Shen – Nicky’s sister role played by Shannon Dang, Henry Yan – Nicky’s love interest Eddie Liu plays this role, Ryan Shen – Nicky’s estranged brother played by Evan Hartley and Jon Prasida – Nicky’s ex and an Assistant District Attorney played by Gavin Stenhouse. Tony Chung, Tzi Ma, Kheng Hua Tan, Vanessa Kai, and Yvonne Chapman are the main character of the 3rd season of Kung Fu.
The CW also has three potential pilots for the upcoming 2022-2023 season, of which the 3rd season of Kung Fu will be a part. The pilots include Walker’s prequel – Walker: Independence, the highly anticipated Supernatural prequel – Gotham Knights and The Winchesters, which will follow the children of Batman’s enemies who team up with his adopted, rebellious son in an unlikely alliance to prove they are being framed for the murder of the billionaire, Bruce Wayne. With the announced renewals and potential additions to the 2022-2023 programming slate, the third season of Kung Fu is part of an exciting lineup for the network.
