Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, where Kimetsu no Yaiba is translated as “Blade of Demon Destruction,” is a Japanese manga series first introduced to anime lovers on February 15, 2016. The story of a teenage boy Tanjiro Kamado is written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge.

This demon-slaying manga was first adapted as anime in June 2018 by Ufotable studio, which was directed and produced by Haruo Sotozaki and Hikaru Kondo, respectively. The first season which earned a viewership of 1.4 million, ran for 26 episodes and was broadcast from April 6 to September 28, 2019, on Tokyo MX, GTV, GYT, BS11, and other channels.

Netflix started streaming the series on January 22, 2021, in the United States. According to multiple reports, it is revealed that after the first season’s success, the second season will be aired on Netflix on October 10, 2022.

Those unaware of the plotline should know that the story revolves around a kind-hearted and brilliant boy who resides with his family in the area surrounded by the mountains. The plot takes place in the town called Taishō-era in Japan, where a secret society, known as the Demon Slayer Corps, has been waging a secret war against demons for centuries. The plot thickens when Tanjiro Kamado comes home to discover that his family was attacked and slaughtered by a monster. Soon Tanjiro and his sister, Nezuko, who were the sole survivors of the attack, meet Giyū Tomioka, a demon slayer who recruits Tanjiro and from there onwards begins his quest to help his sister turn into a human again and avenge the death of his family.

In season two of this famous series, fans will see the “Mugen Train” arc well into the manga run, after 26 TV episodes. This new arc will contain some new scenes and an entire episode focussing on Kyojuro Rengoku (Flame Hashira). We will also learn more about flamboyant” Tengen Uzui (Sound Hashira).

To maintain the viewership, a somewhat extended trailer of the Entertainment District arc has also been released on YouTube, where we see the Sound Hashira with his unwrapped shiny blades as he runs on the rooftops of Yoshiwara at night.

As per the characters’ voices, fortunately, no artist has been changed, and all the same, the cast has returned for the sophomore season.

For further updates, stay tuned.
