Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus is finally available on the leading OTT Platform, Netflix’! The comedy-drama movie will be available on Netflix from February 17. The movie was first shown in theatres on December 24, 2022. It was a huge failure, and the audience was not impressed. It is said that the movie was made with a budget of 150 crores, but it only made 60 crores. Yunus Sajawal is the one who wrote the screenplay for Cirkus, which is based on The Comedy of Error by William Shakespeare. In addition, the movie is said to be a remake of the Bollywood film Angoor, which came out in 1982. According to confirmation, the movie will be available for streaming on Netflix on February 17. This announcement was made by the company via its official Twitter handle.
The Plot
Regarding the storyline, Cirkus is about two sets of identical twins found on the doorsteps of an orphanage. The twins are taken by two different families and go to two different cities. One pair of twins resides in Ooty, while the other pair in Bangalore. Interestingly, both the twins are named Roy and Joy. The story moves forward when both the set of twins cross the path in the same city, leading to a series of comedies of errors.
The Cast
Ranveer Singh and Pooja Hedge, Varun Sharma, and Jacqueline Fernandez play the lead role in the film. Apart from this, Cirkus also stars Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever, Ashwini Kalsekar, Siddharth Jadhav, Vrajesh Hirjee, Tiku Talsania, Murali Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, Brijendra Kala, Anil Charanjeett, Sulabha Arya, and Vijay Patkar in other pivot roles. The movie has been directed by Rohit Shetty and jointly produced by Rohit Shetty Productionz and T-Series.
Those who missed watching the comedy film on the big screen can now watch the comedy-drama Cirkus streaming on Netflix India from February 17 onwards. The Twitter handle CinemaRare India, which lists the recent and upcoming OTT releases, shared the screenshot from the Netflix upcoming section on the micro-blogging platform on Thursday.
