Recently Dolly Parton was seen in a conversation with US Weekly where the Jolene singer gave an insight into the relationship between her and her ‘fairy goddaughter.’
Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton, the two icons of their timeline share a beautiful bond of godmother and goddaughter. The older singer became Miley’s godmother after working with her father, Billy Cyrus in the early 1990s.
The Grammy Award winner has an unbreakable bond with her ‘fairy goddaughter’ that has lasted 29 years and hopefully will survive many more. Dolly has never hesitated before to talk about Miley in public. She always has words of praise for her little princess.
In 2019, she revealed that despite her always acting as the 29 years old mentor, she prefers to lead by example rather than give advice. Her words were, “I’ve told her some things that I think are valuable and that she uses, but I’d rather live an example, [I’d rather] be an example rather than just try to tell somebody to do this, do that because I don’t think that’s right. Everybody’s different. You’ve got your journey. And some people are going to help you along the way and they can kick a few rocks out of the road for you, but you gotta walk it.”
Parton has graced us with her presence in many episodes of Miley Cyrus’ Disney Channel show, Hannah Montana where she appeared as a guest.
Even the Party in The USA song-maker has shared her relationship with her ‘fairy godmother’ with her fans during her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”.
She said, “(People) say, ‘Don’t meet your heroes,’ but that doesn’t apply to her. When you meet her, she’s as incredible as you would have ever dreamed; she’s even better. I mean, every single person on set, in a crowd, going to the grocery store, from the bottom to the top she’s just… Everywhere I go she pulls out a Dolly hat and hands it to somebody, I’m like, ‘How many of these Dolly hats (does she have)?'”
This same level of fondness was seen when Dolly recently answered the questions of whether ‘she advises her ?’
The pop icon replied, “I don’t give advice, but I got a lot of information. Same with Miley. Everybody says, ‘Do you give Miley advice?’ I said, ‘Nobody gives Miley advice.’ She’s [as] headstrong as I am, but we both respect each other. And we share things.”
She shared that her conversation with her is similar to what a mother, aunt, or godmother has with their child. She concluded that she even asks her about her career and she responds with honesty. The bond between these two ladies is precious and makes their fans hope to share something similar with their godparents.
