The plot is set several years after the affairs of its predecessor. It shines a light on Albus Dumbledore, tasking Newt Scamander and his supporters with an assignment that takes them into the core of dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald’s army.
The film made its debut on 29 March 2022 in London, 8 April 2022 in the United Kingdom, and is scheduled to hit the big screens on 15 April 2022 in the United States. It is based on a screenplay penned by J. K. Rowling. The fantasy film is directed under the supervision of David Yates and scripted by J. K. Rowling and Steve Kloves.
In the latest movie in the wizarding franchise, Details surrounding Dumbledore and Grindelwald came into focus. The film concentrated on events that took place years before the occurrences of J.K. Rowling’s initial book series. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we were told that Albus Dumbledore first met Gellert Grindelwald in 1899 in their late teens. Grindelwald stayed in Godric’s Hollow along with his great-aunt, Bathilda Bagshot. Dumbledore grew up in Godric’s Hollow and was in town when Grindelwald arrived.
The movie shined light upon how the two characters met. The nature of their relationship was also discussed, and it indicated something more than friends. They were both obsessed with deathly hallows that became their downfall. The blood pact between Dumbledore and Grindelwald also came into the limelight, and their involvement in Ariana Dumbledore’s demise.
While focusing on these two powerful characters, the movie also emphasizes Dumbledore’s sexuality. J.K. Rowling had revealed that she had always imagined the character as a guy during Speaking at Carnegie Hall in 2007. She also talked about his partner preference in 2016 and said that his queerness would play a role in the “Fantastic Beasts” films.

Dumbledore and Grindelwald admitted their feelings, and the whole conversation was beautifully written and illustrated. During the first confirmation, Dumbledore tells Grindelwald that he went along with his plans “because I was in love with you.”
