Gentleman Jack is a historical drama TV series created by Sally Wainwright. The series is based on the collected diaries of Lister, which contain over four million words and are written largely in secret code, documenting a lifetime of lesbian relationships.

Gentleman jack Season 2 is finally coming to screens after more than three years of waiting. The nostalgic period drama tells the real-life story of English heiress Anne Lister (played by Suranne Jones), a landowner and diarist, and known as the “first modern lesbian.”

While HBO and the BBC have not declared an exact release date, they have confirmed Season 2 of Gentleman Jack will come on tv in April 2022.

The first season has come on HBO on April 22, 2019, and it is Season 2 that will follow suit, meaning lovers may have to wait for the series until mid-to-late April for Gentleman Jack to air.

Season 1 of Gentleman Jack is available to watch HBO Max in the U.S. and the BBC iPlayer in the UK.

The second season of Gentleman Jack will pick up from the cliffhanger ending of the first season, which saw Anne Lister and Ann Walker move in together in Shibden Hall.

As women could not lawfully marry each other in the 19th century, Lister and Walker accepted the sacrament, declaring themselves wife and wife.

In the trailer, Lister and Walker are seen coming to terms with their new home at Shibden Hall. They appear at ease in their personal lives but as for the world outside, the public is not too happy about their relationship.

Gentleman Jack Season 2 is coming to HBO Max and BBC, in April 2022.
