The first BEEF pictures show Steven Yeun and Ali Wong in Netflix’s dark comedy about revenge. Both actors worked together on the animated series Tuca & Bertie, in which Yeun provided the voice of Speckle, Bertie’s devoted boyfriend. The ten-episode Netflix series, premiering on April 6, 2023, will witness Yeun and Wong reunite.
Two strangers’ lives collide during a road rage incident in the dark comedy from A24 Studios. As seen in the Netflix preview images, the fundamental differences between Danny Cho and Amy Lau are exacerbated by a feud that consumes them and changes their relationships in more ways than one. Creator and showrunner Lee Sung Jin’s endeavour is BEEF. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lee described how he was in Los Angeles waiting at a traffic light when an angry driver in a white SUV dragged up next to him. This incident served as the inspiration for the piece. The man began honking and yelling at Lee as soon as the light turned green. Lee claims that after the incident, the man followed the man out of anger but saw no action take place. The Netflix dark comedy’s premise is based on it because it stuck with the showrunner long enough.
BEEF elaborates on the incident of an actual event. Danny, played by Yeun, is an unsuccessful contractor with a point to make. “Self-made entrepreneur with a picturesque life” is how Wong’s character Amy is characterized. BEEF stars Joseph Lee, Young Mazino, Maria Bello, Ashley Park, Justin H. Min, Mia Serafino, Remy Holt, and Wong and Yeun, who are also executive producers. BEEF’s premise invites some intriguing twists and turns, even though a trailer or clip collection is yet to be released.
