What will be covered in The Sandman season 2 when it debuts on Netflix? The Sandman, which Neil Gaiman executive produces and wrote, is the much-anticipated film version of his cherished dark fantasy graphic novel series from DC Comics. The cast of The Sandman includes Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer Morningstar, Tom Sturridge as Dream of the Endless, also known as Morpheus, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, and Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian. After making Sandman fans wait a few months, Netflix revealed the news in November 2023. Although the future of this show and its characters are clearly in Netflix’s sights, it was still being determined what would come next.
Filming for The Sandman season 2 has yet to begin. That makes perfect sense considering the August release date and the November renewal. According to a tweet from Neil Gaiman, the season’s scripts were completed in 2022, making the story ready to air. The production schedule is the only factor that matters. Any information on when the new episodes of The Sandman will air is still awaited. The Sandman season 2 won’t be available on Netflix in 2023 if production on the new episodes begins in the summer. This is an expensive program that requires extensive post-production work. The possibility exists that this show won’t return until 2025 if production continues into 2024, but that’s not guaranteed.

The obvious plot is for Morpheus to get revenge on Lucifer, Desire, Despair, and others. There is precedent to expect that storyline in the upcoming episodes, which would be interesting. Unfortunately, we can only wait and see how the story develops. Gaiman and the creative team should reveal more information as filming progresses.
