Chupa, a new film about a boy who befriends a chupacabra cub, has received its first trailer thanks to Netflix. The narrative begins with a teenage boy visiting family in Mexico and discovering the fabled creature hiding in his grandfather’s shed. The boy and his cousins must cooperate to save the animal while going on the “adventure of a lifetime” because others want to capture the chupacabra, which he names “Chupa”, for evil purposes. Shortly after his find, Alex and his new creature friend find themselves in a fast-paced adventure where they must avoid evil scientists who want to capture the young, misunderstood cub to use his powers. On April 7, 2023, Netflix will formally launch the movie.
They were inspired by various creatures, as well as the descriptions of the various chupacabra sightings reported in the 1990s. Utilizing a script by Sean Kennedy Moore, Joe Barnathan, and Marcus Rinehart with story contributions from Brendan Bellomo, director Jonás Cuarón revealed to Tudum, their goal was to create an incredibly cute creature out of terrifying legend. G. Mac Brown, Bellomo, and Anna Barnathan Barry function as executive producers, in addition to Chris Columbus, Mark Radcliffe, and Michael Barnathan, who serve as producers. Christian Slater plays a significant part in Chupa; other cast members are Alex’s grandfather Chava, played by Demián Bichir, and Richard Quinn acted by Christian Slater, along with Nickolas Verdugo, the scientist hunting Chupa and Ashley Ciarra, who recreate Alex’s cousins Memo and Luna respectively.
After its launch on social media, Netflix revealed the first glance at the Jonás Cuarón-directed fantasy adventure film. Get prepared to plunge in adoration with Chupa on April 7, 2023. The movie will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix from 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time / 03:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Though the trailer release is likely to be coming soon.
