“iCarly” star Nathan Kress announces that Freddie Benson’s character will have a more optimistic outlook in season 2. Kress explained that it had already started at the end of season 1, and he’s already on his way to having a winner idea.
“iCarly” star Nathan Kress said that Freddie Benson’s character will have a much more optimistic storyline in season two of the revival. Kress had previously played the role of the best friend and a tech-savvy friend of the main protagonist Carly Shay (played by Miranda Cosgrove).
The original Nickelodeon show lasted for six seasons, from 2007 to 2012. Freddie’s life in the first season revolved around two divorces and a failed entrepreneurship. Season two, however, which started on April 8, showed him celebrating the launch of his new pet therapy app.
Season 2 also had a bunch of romantic complications in store for him as he starts fake-dating Carly to win back the love of his fans while he starts real dating his pet therapy app’s therapist. Kress argued that the love complications would help them look at their bond from a new perspective.
The characters had dated originally in the show, but Freddie’s love remained unrequited. Their bond has developed a lot in the last ten years, but the jury is still unsure whether they’d make an ideal relationship.
While Cosgrove strongly feels they should become a couple, Kress is still quite skeptical.
Season 2 of ‘iCarly’ is currently available on Paramount+. New episodes release every Friday from June 3.
