Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck started dating In 2002 and quickly became the power couple at that time. The couple got engaged in the same and after two years went their separate ways shortly after announcing the postponement of their wedding.
Recently, the 52-year-old singer opened up about what brought her and Ben to end their engagement in 2004 and shared about how they’re doing things differently this time around in a brand-new profile for Rolling Stone.
Lopez attempted to overlook the racism she encountered during her first relationship with Affleck. Reflecting on it now, Jennifer said that the hate was “brutal,” and further added, “It’s one of those things that you bury very deeply so you can move on and get about your business.”
“It’s funny because Ben and I were together, and we were so in love. It was one of the happiest times of my life. But also, there was this other thing happening where we were being criticized, and it really destroyed our relationship from the inside out, because we were just too young to understand at that time what were really the most important things in life.”
However, Lopez doesn’t think they’ll separate again, as the singer further said, “I don’t think we would have got back together if we thought that was where it was headed.”
The pair have been looking in good shape since they reunited, which the fans learned about them In April 2021 when they were sighted together.
In July, they made their relationship official by posting a kissing selfie on Jennifer’s 52nd birthday on Instagram.
