According to Variety, Harry Styles will perform alongside Coachella superstars Billie Eilish and Kanye West. Swedish House Mafia is also slated to play, however, it is uncertain if they will be the main attraction. On Wednesday evening, the formal announcement and entire lineup were made public.
Styles’ appearance will be his debut at the event, and insiders claim he may release new songs before the show. He recently finished the largest North American tour by any major artist since the epidemic began in early 2020, even though he has not released a new album since “Fine Line” in December of 2019, and speculations about new music have been rampant in recent weeks.
West performed as a headliner at Coachella in 2011, and Eilish made her festival debut in 2019. SHM has previously appeared at Coachella in 2012.
In addition to West, Eilish, and Styles, the roster includes Lil Baby, Daniel Caesar, Phoebe Bridgers, Big Sean, Megan Thee Stallion, 21 Savage, Danny Elfman, Doja Cat, Joji, Run the Jewels, and many others.
The event, which is already sold out, will be held on the weekends of April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022, at the Empire Polo Ground in Indio, California. However, the worrying omicron surge and the recent Grammy Awards postponement have many people wondering whether the event will be held in April or postponed for the sixth time.
While Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and Rage Against the Machine were the initial headliners for this 21st version of the event, which was first announced in January of 2020, the festival has been postponed four times owing to the epidemic. Ocean rescheduled his visit for 2023 last year, while Scott was dropped off the lineup in the aftermath of the Astroworld disaster in November.
