NCIS is one of the top-rated police procedural dramas on CBS. The show revolves around a fictitious team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, merging military drama and police procedural genres. The show debuted on September 23, 2003, and has completed eighteen seasons with 429 episodes in its pocket.

The show is currently airing its nineteenth season, which began broadcasting on September 20, 2021. As of 2022, it is the third-longest-running scripted, non-animated U.S. primetime TV sequence presently airing, topped only by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order.

The 19th season follows the departure of Maria Bello and Emily Wickersham, who bid farewell to the roles of Special Agents Jacqueline “Jack” Sloane and Eleanor Bishop, respectively. In March, CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl announced NCIS would officially return for a 20th season, with the show’s spin-offs, NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: Hawai’i.

The show’s latest release was the fifteenth episode of its nineteenth season. It came out on March 14, 2022, and the last episode, titled ‘Birds of a Feather, is set to tie up Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker’s plotline.

Agent Parker joined the long-running series in episode two of season 19. His character took over from veteran NCIS actor Mark Harmon, who played Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Alongside dealing with being framed for murder, the season finale will also introduce Agent Parker’s ex-wife, played by Teri Polo (The Fosters). She will be playing a recurring role in the show in the future.
