The news of this thriller was first announced by ScreenDaily. AGBO president of production Mike Larocca and vice-president Malcolm Grey served as executive producers.
The project was first optioned by Russo Brothers in 2018. ABGO has previously worked with Netflix on several projects, including Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth. The Whisper Man is among several works AGBO has optioned in recent years that have yet to find distribution partners.
When the e-book was optioned, writer Alex North mentioned: “As an unlimited fan of Joe and Anthony Russo’s film-making, I’m completely delighted to be working with AGBO to deliver The Whisper Man to the display screen. I can’t think about a greater residence for it.”
