On January 5, 2022, Olympic figure skater Michelle Swan welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Kalista Belle Kwan.

Michelle Wingshan Kwan, the 41-year-old American retired figure skater, welcomed her first child as she shared the picture of her baby girl, Kalista, on her Instagram account on January 5, along with a video of her growing baby bump.

She wrote a lengthy caption on the post, “I’m overjoyed, and tears of happiness are streaming down my face as I share the news,”

She further added, “I’ve always wanted to be a mom and, to me, she’s a perfect miracle.”

“I had a hard time picturing what she might look like, yet it seems like she’s been in my life forever. This has been a challenging journey to motherhood (not to mention very long labor!!!), and I’m glad I never gave up.”

“As people closest to me know, I’m always full of surprises and tend to keep my personal life private,” Michelle continued. “And, I’ve wanted to share this happy news for many months, but each milestone seemed to be exciting and daunting at the same time.”

She seems so happy entering into motherhood.

Michelle is a two-time Olympic medalist, a five-time World champion, and a nine-time U.S. champion. She is tied with Maribel Vinson for the all-time National Championship record.
She is one of the highest-paid ice skaters on the champions on Ice tours.

In addition, the ice skater has also appeared in Arthur, Sabrina the teenage witch, and several other television series as a guest.
She is also a voice actress.

She was born in Torrance, California.
She married Clay Pell, an American lawyer and military officer, in 2013, but the couple got separated in 2017.
