Netflix’s top-rated teen drama based on Archie Comics, Riverdale, is set to return on the screens with new episodes for its season 6 sometime in March 2022. The latest episodes will be released internationally before being broadcasted to Netflix US later in 2022.
Riverdale made its debut on January 26, 2017, and its previous installments, i.e., season 5, concluded on October 6, 2021. The number of episodes that will air hasn’t been confirmed so far. Still, they will air internationally every Tuesday before dropping on Netflix at 8:00 AM GMT in every region outside the United States.
Those living in the US still haven’t seen the fifth season. The regions included in the list are Netflix Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
The news of season 6 came on February 3, 2021, when it was revealed that the coming season would be divided into two parts. The first part, which consisted of 5 episodes, premiered on November 16, 2021.
In the previous seasons, we saw Sabrina Spellman making her debut on the show due to her own being canceled during the pandemic. No news has been shared regarding whether the fans will get to see her in the upcoming episodes or not.
As of today, the show has aired 100 episodes. The story is set in a small town called Riverdale and focuses on teenagers struggling to find balance in their lives while handling education and romance. The story begins with the murder of one of the rich and famous Blossom twins on the 4th of July. It takes momentum when the teenagers embark upon a journey to find the truth behind the crime and, in between, find themselves tangled with the strings attached to their pasts.
The network has released an ominous new teaser poster to get fans hyped for the upcoming midseason return. It clearly shows the leading five characters of the show, i.e., Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Jughead Jones, and Cheryl Blossom.
The star cast of the latest season includes K.J. Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Casey Cott, Mädchen Amick, Vanessa Morgan, Charles Melton, Drew Ray Tanner, Erinn Westbrook, Chris O’Shea, and many more. According to the sources, we will also get to see the return of Hermione Lodge, who Marisol Nichols plays. She was last seen departing from the town after becoming a reality TV star, and her recovery will undoubtedly cause trouble, especially in her daughter’s life.
The season will take off from where it left the fans wondering about the fates of their beloved characters. We can finally find out how Betty and Archie survived Hiram’s last dastardly deed, aka the bomb he left under Archie’s bed that went off in the season 5 finale.
