Fans have been waiting for another season of the American anthology drama series, The sinner season 5.

But unfortunately, the series won’t be back for another season as the series is officially canceled.

Derek Simonds developed the series for the USA network. The series is named after Petra Hammesfahr’s 1999 novel, which served as the basis for the first season.

Since the sinner is an anthology series, every episode has a different cast. Only Bill Pullman, who starred as a police detective investigating crimes committed by unlikely culprits, appeared every season, the rest of the cast changing for each season’s story.

On the other hand, Jessica Hecht played the leading role in the third and fourth seasons.

The series featured many cast members, which included Jessica Biel, Christopher Abbott, Dohn Norwood, Abby Miller, Carrie Coon, Natalie Paul, Hannah Gross, Elisha Henig, Tracy Letts, Jessica Hecht, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Eddie Martinez, and many more.

Each season consisted of eight episodes, and seasons one to four premiered in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021 respectively.

Since the finale of season four, there’s been no announcement regarding season 5 of the series. Later it was announced that the series is officially not getting any further seasons.

“Telling the kinds of tales we have on The Sinner these last four seasons has been a big pleasure and a privilege,” said series creator Derek Simonds.
