The popular mystery drama show “Riverdale” stays in the headlines for its titular cast, screenplay, and the ambiguity of the plot. The show’s sixth season will premiere on The CW on March 20 as a mid-season premiere. The rendition of Archie horror comics has been a success on Netflix as one of the most-watched shows.
The discussion about the show ending is heating up these days as the cast member speculated the 7th season as an endgame to the series, and the internet has gone head over hills with tossing over the possibilities of season 6 and season 7. But showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has diluted all the rumors saying there’s more to come from the show.
In an interview with Decider, he shut down the idea of ending the season, saying, “One of the great gifts about this season is that we are exploring, yet again, a different genre, and I hope fans really responded to it. But there are still so many things to discover about these characters.”
The CW also confirmed after the rumors that no decisions on renewal or cancellation have been made yet. As Rivervale premiered for its five-episode in late 2021 set in an alternative dark, spooky world, this week’s episode will finally bring the audience to the town picking up from the finale of season 5 following the story ahead of explosion, When Archie and Betty found out about the bomb that Hiram planted as a parting gift.
With a bit of alternative world still, leftover Sacasa said, “We’re still in the midst of writing and producing season 6, Things have only started! There’s so much more to come. There’s still juice in the tank, as far as I’m concerned, at least. As long as the show remains meaningful to people, and people are invested in it, there’s definitely, definitely, definitely gas in the tank.”
Riverdale’s latest episode of season 6 will premiere on March 20. Make sure you have popcorn with you because the mysteries might get darker than we expect. We will keep you posted for any further updates.
