The milestone episode “Chapter One Hundred and One: Unbelievable” of teen drama show Riverdale premiered last week. It was the sixth episode after the five-episode anthology of the town set in a pocket alternative universe titled Rivervale.

The episode took off from the season 5 cliffhanger ending of Hiram planting the bomb and blowing up Archie’s house as he leaves town. When Veronica realizes that the bomb explosion had something to do with her father, she decides to put his head for bounty and hire a hitman for the job. In the episode, her rash decision was something she instantly regretted. Reggie tried to convince her that whatever she was doing would trap her in guilt but before she could inform the hitman about her changed her mind. The assassin has done his job though we never saw the body of Hiram, so we don’t know the dead.

CBR interviewed the showrunner Aguirre-Sacasa to answer this question if Hiram is really dead, He said, “What can I say? I think he’s as dead characters are on Riverdale. That’s to say he is pretty dead. Yeah, he’s dead. He wasn’t in Riverdale when he died. Usually, it’s people who die in Riverdale are in Riverdale, who come back, he seems pretty dead.”

It seems like there is no scope for Hiram Lodge to make a return anytime soon, but I can’t really say anything about the show as it’s unpredictable in nature.

In ‘Unbelievable,’ it came to notice that Archie and Betty survived the blast and gained some superpowers in the process. As for Jughead, the opposite has happened, and he has lost his hearing due to the sound of detonation.

When Sacasa was asked what we can expect in Jughead’s journey this season, he replied, “I will say that Jughead’s journey is just beginning, and it does seem like, unlike Archie and Betty. Jughead wasn’t granted a special ability. That said, he was a little further away from the nexus of the blast. So stay tuned and see what happens with Jughead. This is only the beginning of his journey, not the endpoint.”

Episode 7 of season 6, “Chapter one Hundred and Two: Death at a Funeral,” will premiere on 27 March exclusively on The CW. Till then, stay tuned for more exciting updates.
