Downey Jr once played Sherlock Holmes on screen, and he still has not got enough of the role and is now back to the murder thriller epic tales. Robert is now all set to produce not one but two shows that will air on HBO max on television, spreading the film and book franchise.
HBO Max and Warner Bros are looking forward to building a Sherlock Holmes film-TV universe as a TV series. The franchise starring Rober Downey Jr and Jude Law is in an early development period, and the project will revolve around the characters seen in the Sherlock Holmes 3 film.
Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan Downey, will produce the project with Amanda Burrell of Team Downey. This indeed isn’t the first time that a Sherlock Holmes-based series has been said to be created, but this certainly marks the first time that significant steps have been taken to carry out the entire procedure.
Initially, The film was supposed to be released in December 2020 and then pushed to December 2021. The third film has been delayed indefinitely due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
However, both Downey Jr. and director Dexter Fletcher have publicly expressed their commitment to making it.
Team Downey’s Sherlock Holmes series will not be the first TV adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s work. The times have seen numerous novel adaptations, and they love the audience has showered on the characters and the plots.
