Shadow and Bone have taken the globe by storm since its Netflix launch in April 2021, becoming one of the streaming service’s popular shows. It’s no surprise that fans are excited about season 2!

The series is based on a set of books written by Leigh Bardugo. The novels already had a devoted following. But there are certainly a lot of show-first lovers (like me!). Regardless of how you discovered the series, it’s an absolute must-see. And we know what all the fuss is about!

Unfortunately, Shadow and Bone’s sophomore season isn’t among the Netflix shows set to premiere in June, so we’ll have to wait longer for the series to return.

Shadow and Bone season 2 release update

It’s difficult to determine when the second season will be available on Netflix. The first season concluded production in February 2020; however, it didn’t broadcast until April 2021, more than a year later.

We know that filming for the second season began in Budapest, Hungary, in January of this year, and filming is likely to conclude in June or July.

The good news is that Netflix’s Geeked Week will feature Shadow and Bone, and it’s scheduled for the very first day, June 6! Hopefully, the streamer will offer us a release update. At the very least, we’d want to know if the imaginative fantasy series will be released this year.
