The Perks of Being a Wallflower star and the X Games gold medalist were rumored to be linked together in February 2020 when their fans noticed them sharing snaps from a trip to South Africa. Although the couple did not post any pictures together, the location in all the snaps was the same that stirred the dating rumors.
These rumors were further verified correctly when in March 2020, the adorable twosome was spotted enjoying a bike ride in Malibu and then the Vampire Diaries alum posted a video on her Instagram handle where they were sanitizing their groceries.
In August 2020, the love birds were sighted locking lips during their vacation to Tulum, Mexico. Since then, they have shared numerous Instagram posts spending their time together. Whether it was spending their Thanksgiving together or spending Nina’s 32nd birthday together, they were seen having fun in the adorable snaps through their Instagram accounts.
On January 15, 2021, the couple had another huge reason to celebrate together. Nina shared the news of her boyfriend making it to the Olympics and posted a caption to show how proud she was feeling. She penned, “LFG! Beijing babbbbbbbyyy @shaunwhite. So proud of you. Time to celebrate.”
Their fans were also proud to see the snowboarder getting his final shot in the games as this will be his last year of playing in the Olympics.
Shaun White in his recent interview with US Weekly disclosed his feelings regarding his relationship with Dobrev. Getting nostalgic of their trip to South Africa, the snowboarder told the tabloid, “That was actually how we kind of started our relationship. I was like, ‘All right. Yeah. OK.’ And she [thought], ‘Oh, this guy, he came to play. He’s serious.’ So that’s a thing that we share together. We both enjoy traveling.”
Through an insider, their fans found that the couple is enjoying their time together and are busy getting to know each other.
When questioned what Shaun loves about the actress, he gave an adorable answer that made the fans adore this couple even more. He said, “I wish I could sum it up into one or two things, it’s such a mix of everything. Like our dogs get along, you know? We have common interests.”
He also commented on how supportive she has been throughout these months. “She’s just been so incredibly supportive. She’s like, ‘Hey, I’m here to help you … how do I help you?’ It’s not about her. She’s just been so giving in that sense. She wants to elevate the people around her. It’s such a beautiful thing, especially in today’s world. … To have that kind of a caring quality still is really special.”
