Hannah Price, the daughter of rock singer Chris Daughtry, committed herself, according to her family in a statement obtained by People magazine.
On Nov. 12, Price, 25, was under the influence of drugs at her house in Fentress County, Tennessee. the family stated
“Our beloved Daughter Hannah Price passed away on November 12th, 2021. Much speculation has been made since that date, and after a full investigation by law enforcement, we are now able to speak in further detail.” the statement reads
Price has struggled with mental illness since she was a child, spending years in and out of therapy and treatment centers.
“As Hannah grew older, she struggled to find her footing, began taking drugs, and frequently found herself in violent situations,” according to the statement. Hannah was the victim of a crime and was shot in the face just months after losing her biological father to suicide. They did everything they could to help her recover from these catastrophes and get her life back on track. They had only just made preparations with Hannah to seek more therapy and relocate closer to the family.
Chris Daughtry took to Instagram earlier today to express his grief over the “devastating loss” of his 25-year-old stepdaughter Hannah, whose cause of death has yet to be determined.
“I’m still absorbing the events of the previous 24 hours.” “I am utterly devastated and crushed,” Daughtry’s frontman and former American Idol contestant remarked. “I just lost my mother to cancer, but I was fortunate to have the opportunity to say goodbye, and I was processing it discreetly.” We never got to say goodbye to Hannah, and it’s a great blow to our family.”
Daughtry expressed gratitude to friends and fans for their “warm words and sympathies,” saying they “are really felt and appreciated.”
