It’s the second year in a row in which Screen actors guild Awards took it to its Instagram feed to share this year’s nominees. The honors of announcing were done by Rosario Dawson and Vanessa Hudgens.

The nominations are announced online because of Covid-19 and omicron community spread. Many major industry events such as Sundance have opted for all virtual events, canceling their in-person ceremony. Several others show like the Grammys and Critics Choice Awards have been postponed as they wait to pass the peak of the infection. Golden globes also had a private ceremony last weekend.

The SAG Awards opted for a virtual ceremony last year amid the pandemic. But this year they plan to host an in-person event, the ceremony will be held in spacious Santa Monica Barker Hangar will follow all the COVID safety protocols.
