The famous American Supernatural Teen drama series, “The vampire diaries” is expected to leave Netflix in the United States in March 2022.

The series originally premiered on “The CW” on the 10th of September, 2009, and concluded on March 10, 2017.

The series consists of eight seasons with 171 episodes.

Developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec and written by L.J Smith, the series is based on the books series of the same name.

The main cast of the series includes Nina Dobrev as Elene Gilbert, Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore, Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore (Stefan’s manipulative and selfish brother), Joseph Morgan as Niklaus Mikaelson, Steven R. McQueen as Jeremy Gilbert (Elena’s younger brother).

Sara Canning as Jenna Sommers, Kat Graham as Bonnie Bennett, Candice King as Caroline Forbes, and many more.

The series follows the story of two vampire brothers, Damon and Stefan who return to their hometown, Mystic Falls, where supernatural beings live among the residents, both of them are obsessed with the same girl named Elena.

According to The CW contract (which ended in 2019) shows in the US will stay on Netflix for five years after the final season is added.

The final season of The Vampire Diaries arrived on Netflix on March 18th, 2017 which concludes that those five years are about to end. That means that The Vampire Diaries is expected to leave Netflix in the United States on March 18th, 2022.

We’d expect to see the removal notice of the show either on February 17th or 18th. That’s approximately 30 days before the series is due to expire.

Moreover, Netflix itself releases a list of removals where the show should be included there. That list isn’t expected to be released around the 15th of February.
