Spider-Man: No Way Home has become one of the most successful films of 2021 by grossing over $1.6 billion worldwide, surpassing its predecessor as the highest-grossing film released by Sony Pictures. The film has become the sixth highest-grossing film of all time and set several other box office records, including those for films released during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fans all over the world have praised its storyline, direction, action sequences, and the cast’s performances as well as its on-screen chemistry. The biggest plus point for this film was the role of the artists who have played the same role in previous franchises. The Peter Trio was a blast to watch and the actors, Andrew Garfield and Toby McGuire received a lot of positive reviews for their scenes with the latest Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland.

Seeing the people who had once donned the same suit was nostalgic and it made its fans high on emotions. Since the release of the movie, the actors have been in the headlines for their performances and have been sharing their experiences and fears that they had to overcome to shoot the film.

Toby McGuire who took a hiatus from the Hollywood industry was welcomed with open arms as the eldest Peter Parker. He brought simplicity and wisdom to the film which was adored by his fans.

McGuire became famous after his role as Peter Parker in 2002. The star became an overnight sensation and was later on replaced by Andrew Garfield after wearing his suit for the last time in the third installment of his franchise in 2007. After that, he was seen in a few more films like Brothers, The Great Gatsby, and Labor Day before doing his last role in 2014’s Pawn Sacrifice.

Toby was missed by his fans and when he got the cameo in Tom’s spider-verse, he was highly appreciated. He shared his thoughts and revealed that he considered this latest opportunity a huge responsibility along with a ‘blessing’.

His statement reads, “It was uncomfortable getting it on and then it’s a goof, and then it also has a sort of power in a sense because it brings me back into that character. It really does, there’s so much affinity for this character, it means so much to so many people, that once the goofiness of being in lycra or spandex goes away, you’re like ‘Oh wow. This is cool. This is a responsibility but a blessing, like something that I get to do that I’m grateful for.’ Honestly, being with these guys, it really was just a much, much richer experience than I anticipated or that I could really even express in words.”

The Great Gatsby actor also shared that he was “intrigued immediately” after hearing the plotline which includes all the superheroes coming together and was excited to return to his character. We are glad that he chose to return as his presence became the highlight of the film along with his co-star Garfield.
Hopefully, we will get to see this chaotic trio in another upcoming franchise.
