Tom Holland’s upcoming project, Uncharted, is an action-adventure film directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Rafe Lee Judkins, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway. The film is based on the video game series of the same name developed by Naughty Dog. The upcoming franchise will serve as a prequel to the Naughty Dog game franchise while taking inspiration from Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and 4: A Thief’s End.
The movie is scheduled to hit the big screens in the United Kingdom on February 11, 2022, and later in the United States on February 18, in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, and 4DX. With its release date so close, IGN has released a new Uncharted movie clip. The video sees Tom Holland showing off his bartending skills. Holland has talked about his preparations for the movie on numerous occasions. He has also disclosed several instances including working at a real bar and having to be dragged away from playing the game on the set of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
In the clip, we can see him using his bartending skills to distract a mercenary while Chloe solves a puzzle in their search for Magellan’s gold. The sequence not only gives us an insight into the actor’s hard work but also offers a good look at some of the actual puzzles Drake, Sully and Sophia Ali’s Chloe have to solve in their search for Magellan’s lost gold.
The movie follows Nathan Drake, a young fortune-hunter who claims to be a descendant of famed English explorer Sir Francis Drake. and his partner Victor “Sully”, a seasoned fortune hunter who is Nate’s mentor and father figure, as they go up against a wealthy, ruthless treasure hunter and his mercenaries to claim a lost fortune in gold from the voyages of Magellan, while also tracking clues that may lead to Drake’s long-lost brother, Sam.
The video game franchise is well-known for its bombastic action set pieces, for example, Uncharted 3’s plane crash sequence that much of the film’s marketing has frequently highlighted but the whole franchise is also quite famous for its unique puzzles challenging players in their various fortune hunts.
With Tom playing the lead character, we will also get to see actors like Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas playing the supporting roles.
Holland’s fans are quite excited for this movie as his previous movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home was a huge blockbuster. Hopefully, the movie will be worth the wait and will fulfill its expectations.
