James Cameron’s 1994 blockbuster movie with Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger inspired the movie ‘True Lies.’ In the CBS series, Harry works as a first-class international spy for the US intelligence organisation Omega Sector. At the same time, his wife Helen is a bored language instructor who is surprised to discover his secret identity.
Helen finds out that Omega hires her, and she amazes everyone with her impressive abilities. She then joins Harry and his elite squad of operatives, starting an action-packed life of danger and excitement that includes covert missions throughout the globe and managing to keep their adventures hidden from their three young children. The couple’s emotionally distant relationship gets a much-needed boost from their renewed relationship and flips Omega Sector’s top-secret lifestyle.
Will the show ‘True Lies’ premiere on Netflix?
As ‘True Lies’ is not a Netflix Original, it will sadly not be available for streaming. This is because CBS chose to broadcast the series. You may watch the show on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET if you have cable or sign up for Paramount+ to watch the episodes.
According to the description, Helen will receive her first formal mission in the premiere when she and Harry go undercover in Madrid to “try and stop a bioweapon terrorist strike.” The spy’s situation becomes more challenging since he must maintain his relationship with cryptographer Ximena, with whom they must collaborate, a secret.
Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga, playing Harry and Helen, respectively, are the show’s co-leads. Other cast members include: Omar Miller portrays Gib; Erica Hernandez portrays Maria; Mike O’Gorman portrays Luther; Lucas Jaye portrays Jake and Annabella Didion portrays Dana.
The first episode of True Lies airs on CBS on March 1, 2023. The episodes can also be watched on Paramount+.
