The CW Walker season 2 has added the American Gods star, Ashley Reyes as Jared Padalecki’s companion, replacing Lindsey Morgan, who left the show in December for personal reasons.
The addition to cast decision came following the exit of Micki Ramirez, played by Morgan, a favourite fan character. Reyes will play Cassie Perez, the “unconventional and wily, quick on her feet” character, a strong woman who isn’t afraid to break the mould as the only woman in her field.
The series is a reimagining of the long-running iconic series ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’ from 1993 to 2001. It follows the adventure of Cordell Walker, a widower and father of two with his moral code, as he returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s more intricate work to be done at home. He must attempt to reconnect with his creative and thoughtful son and his headstrong, somewhat rebellious teenage daughter and navigate clashes with his family and ADA brother who stepped in during Walker’s absence, his wise mother and his traditional rancher father. Walker finds unexpected common ground with his new partner growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death.
Cassie will make her debut as a former Texas State Trooper in the next episode of Walker titled “Nudge”, which will air on 3 March. Anna Fricke writes the show. The audience is excited to see what Ashley Reyes will bring to the table, filling up the void of Micki Ramirez.
It is going to be an exciting episode for the viewers. Till then, stay tuned for more updates.
