Tales of the Walking Dead will be the fourth television series within The Walking Dead franchise. Like its predecessors, it is based on the American post-apocalyptic comic book series, The Walking Dead, created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore. The show is scheduled to make its debut on AMC on August 14, 2022.
The zombie apocalypse drama will introduce fans to some fresh faces and old ones who will have to fight for their survival within The Walking Dead universe. It is created by Channing Powell, with Scott M. Gimple and Powell serving as its executive producers.
The show will release six one-hour standalone episodes, two of which are scheduled to be released on AMC+ on August 14, while the rest are streamed on the service a week early from the second onward.
The show stars Olivia Munn, Samantha Morton, Terry Crews, Parker Posey, Anthony Edwards, Poppy Liu, Jillian Bell, Loan Chabanol, Embeth Davidtz, Jessie T. Usher, Daniella Pineda, and Danny Ramirez.
To hype the fans, the show has released a trailer during the midseason finale of The Walking Dead on AMC that gave us a glimpse of the first look at the woman return who will become Alpha of the Whisperers. Filming of the show began in January 2022 in Buford, Georgia, and is now finished making the show in its crucial pre-release moments.
Despite The Walking Dead coming to an end, the franchise is far from over. On top of this latest project, fans are also anxiously waiting for the arrival of the Daryl spinoff and seeing Negan and Maggie’s journey to NYC. For further updates, stay tuned.
