‘Walking Dead’s’ Jeffrey Dean Morgan Defends Norman Reedus From Fan Abuse

One of AMC’s longest-running tv-series is finally at its end. The Walking Dead made its debut on AMC on October 31, 2010, and after over a decade, the show is finally taking its leave with its one hundred and seventy-seventh episode. It is currently airing its eleventh and final installment.

Recently, the news of Melissa McBride exiting the show has come out. According to various reports, McBride will no longer be involved in the offshoot. Instead, the new series will focus on Daryl. It shocked fans all across the globe. Fans also shared the reason behind her departure, and it appears to be her sole decision to leave the series.

Unfortunately, some fans have decided to attack Norman Reedus by simply assuming that her departure was his fault. To clear the confusion and express his support for the actor, another actor has come forward to defend him on Twitter. His Twitter statement reads, “Some of you have gone WAY too far. TOXIC. Attacking Norm for the crap he has NOTHING to do with? Melissa made a call that was hers alone. She wants/needs a break. Respect that. [There are] factors involved that are nobody’s business. Norm, who’s given more than anyone to you all. Just SHITTY.”

Further explaining the actual truth behind the location settings, he twitted, “Norman had nothing to do with picking location. That decision is all about story, ideas… MONEY. That’s studio/network. Not actors. We can say yes and do, or no, and not do… MAYBE. SOMETIMES. If we’re lucky and don’t have a contract yet. Rarely does an actor have that power,”

Fans need to understand that the show isn’t in the hands of the actors, and they are simply a means to a plotline. It all comes down to the story and how the writers want to pursue their story. Hopefully, now many of these commenters will get to understand the reason and stop harassing the actor.
