On September 24, 2022, Netflix announced the first trailer for You Season 4 during its TUDUM showcase event.Â
In the trailer, Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley)informs that he is no longer the charming bookshop manager in New York or the devoted husband in the city. He has undergone some refinement and has become Professor Jonathan Moore. According to him, being in London has made it easier for him to “forget the past,” thus the days of lost Love and longing are behind. This time, he only wants to concentrate on his studies and keep his extracurricular activities on the shorter side. However, as Joe speaks, the different images of different personalities suggest that his new life in London may not be as drama-free as he wishes.
But in season 3, Joe murders Love (Victoria Pedretti) and sets her up as the victim of his crimes, then fakes his death and escapes across the pond. This time, Joe lives in London, England, and has a different identity. Of course, we want him to find a new partner, and he’s still looking for Marienne (Tati Gabrielle).
It is quite unlikely that Pedretti will play Love Quinn again in You Season 4. Some fans may find it disappointing that “You“ is leaving behind the storyline of Joe and Love. However, Sera Gamble, the show’s creator, revealed that Love is dead in a 2021 interview with Newsweek even if she is not on the character list and may still make a surprise cameo.
There will be two parts of You Season 4’s Netflix release. The first part will debut on February 9, 2023, while the second will debut on March 10, 2023.
